The Northrup/Whitney biker gang remain

Hola! Good news came on Sunday night that Sister Whitney and I are staying together for another transfer in good ol' Elk Plain! That means that the biking continues.. rain or shine! Haha the rain has returned this week and we got a little wet. It is fun though! I like feeling the water hit my face and then having to awkwardly wipe it off when I am trying to talk to someone outside hahaha. We taught a pmf from Russia this week! Some people you just meet and love and Sister Holt is one of those people. I just absolutly love her. She has the coolest accent and taught me how to say "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" in Russian. I am still working on mastering it. She also offered to let us try a delicacy in her country. Fish Eggs. Yep I couldn't do it. I gagged just watching her slab some on a piece of bread for Sister Whitney. She ate it and then asked for more!!! I did however try a bunch of Russian candy which was delicious. I have tried more exotic food on my mission than my whole life combined! It is the best:)

Also we got to do a bunch of canning with our recent convert Sister Diamond this week! It was really fun and she taught us how to make super good tomato sauce. We met a lot of new investigators this week. One of which is Kenny. He is a sniper and is just awesome. When we walked up to talk to him I was nervous because he just doesn't look like someone who would accept the gospel. (That was a horrible thought never judge!) He is totally ready though! He has a desire to learn and needs this in his life so much! He has seen a lot of bad things and I can't wait to help him see how the atonement can heal those wounds.

We are also teaching this great part-member family named the Hunt's! Brother Hunt isn't a member, but is warming up to the gospel a lot. They both served in the military and as they were telling us stories, I could see so clearly the parallels between a mission and the military. Both are such a sacrifice and affect who you are dramatically. This Labor Day I felt a true appreciation for those that have served our country. I am so grateful for their sacrifice so that we can have the freedoms we enjoy, especially freedom to worship how we please. I would like to say thank you to anyone reading this who served for our country. You are amazing! The sacrifice you have given is incredible and something that is close to my heart!

I hope you all have a great week! Never forget to thank our Heavenly Father for all your blessings. He has given us everything!

Your Sister in Christ,

Sister Northrup
