Guess What?

Welp. This week had experiences on both ends of the spectrum. But both in their own way were miraculous!!!!!

1. Sister Whitney got hit by a car. We were riding down a busy 50 mph street. A car was taking a right onto the road so was looking left. Sister Whitney kept going. As she moved in front of the car they went... Luckily they only were going about 10 mph when she got hit. It threw her into the middle of the busy road. Needless to say I jumped off my bike and was scrambling to get to her before a car flying down the road did. However, no cars were in the road. They had plenty of time to slow down so she was safe. She got up and moved and I grabbed the bike and her shoe which had flown off. I was in a panic looking at her body, especially legs for broken bones. She sensed the panic and smiled at me and just said she was okay. Literally not a scratch... She is totally fine. The Hermanas came and took us to the Urgent Care and she checked out perfectly good to go. All she had was a little sore behind from where she landed on the road. The bike took most of the impact, which is such a blessing. The people that hit her were so kind and I felt so bad for them too! God protects His missionaries. I witnessed a miracle on Mountain Hwy.

2. Now this is the better of the two experiences. Last week I talked about Kenny. Well he is getting deployed. So sad! But he is super solid and I am confident he will be taught on base wherever he goes! But after the loss of our most promising investigator we went tracting. First door we knocked on we found KYLE!!! Kyle is the father of 5 kids, 3 of which are now being taught as well as himself. They came to church and enjoyed it. It was fun to get to play with his little 2 year old and keep her quiet so he could focus. I haven't done that in awhile;) I love their family more than words can describe. Honestly this area has been the least fruitful out of all my areas when I got here. We have worked extremely hard these past 7 weeks and it was so worth it just to find one family! It is still amazing to me that God is preparing ALL of His children to receive the gospel. My heart is overflowing with gratitude for my Savior and my Father in Heaven. I love them. And because I do it motivates me everyday to spend every hour in the service of my God I hit my year mark this week. I have been reflecting on my mission up to this point and I wouldn't change a thing. My heart is changed and I now understand how Alma felt as he boasted in God! I can do all things with Him by my side, but more than that I only want to do the things He wants me to do. I love you all so much! I appreciate the impact all of you have had on my life. I pray that you all can feel of the infinate love your Savior has for each of you! Keep the Faith!

Your Sister in Christ,

Sister Northrup
