Praying for Patience

Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow!!! What a week!!!!

Can I just say missionary work is the best?!!! So many miracles and so many many blessings! My heart is full of gratitude for my Savior and His work this week! We had a Woman's Broadcast with Sister Bingham, Sister McConkie, and Sister Stephens! It was the best thing ever. The Spirit was incredibly strong. During Sister Stephens talk she asked all the full-time sister missionaries to stand. I was overwhelmed as I stood with Jesus Christ's name on my chest. It was a moment that I could feel my Heavenly Father's love for me. He is proud of my service to Him. I need to remember that more often:) My invitation to all of you this week is to read 2 Chronicles 20. It is an amazing story of faith, prayer, fasting, and the temple and how all these things can help us in our times of struggle! Too often I forget that it is the small things that matter most. It is the small things we do everyday as disciples of Christ that add up to a lifetime of consecrated service to God.

Salina committed to be baptized! She has been taught for awhile, but she is finally ready to set that goal and make covenants with God! She is so amazing and I love watching her grow everyday. We got her started on family history and of course planned a trip to the discovery center! Haha I think I have gone there more than any other missionary!;) Chantell is also progressing well and is reading the Book of Mormon and ACTUALLY UNDERSTANDS IT!! That is a miracle alone! She is a single mom and this message is bringing her lots of comfort through the hard times. We are teaching bomb people! Also we got a media referral for a man named Ed and him and his wife are P R E P A R E D!!! No joke. They are ready to accept the gospel. It's great.

So of course blessings never come without a price... haha...

This week I decided to pray for patience. It has never been a strong attribute of mine, so occationally I decide to ask for help. Well... rule of thumb when you pray for patience you are going to get experiences that test your patience. This week my bike tire got flat. So I rode a spare bike we had. It is like from the 60s I swear and while I was riding I pulled the break and it snapped. Haha so we started to ride home. On the way home I was too close to Sister Whitney and she swerved unexpectidly to miss a dead crow... I didn't have enough time so I ran it over. I crushed all its bones and its guts squirted out. It was so disgusting!! We finally got home and fixed my other tire. We went back out to a couple appointments. Before one of them, we tied up the bikes and began to pray. Right in the middle you hear POP PSSSSSH! Then another POP PSSSHH!! My bike tire busted! (very grateful I wasn't riding when that happened #blessed) We both just started laughing. Then we started the 2 1/2 mile trek back to the house. Finally we got the tire all fixed and now everything is good haha! I am so grateful for the experiences I have where God tests my patience. Every trial brings new growth and brings me closer to my Savior! I am grateful for trials!

P-day was fantastic today! We went back to visit Eatonville and my favorite Olsons and Brother McBeain took us to the mountain! It was great:) I missed them.

It was a crazy week full of adventure! I wouldn't have it any other way!

Love,

Sister Northrup
