Bikers!!!!

Okay so this transfer so far is one of the best... WE ARE BIKER SISTERS!!!! Sister Whitney and I decided to ride bikes period. So we don't drive except of course the Sabbath. I am in love. It has been one of the greatest weeks of my whole mission riding around talking to literally everyone! We almost don't make our appointments, because there are too many people to talk to. All you returned missionaries will understand that is a good problem to have;) Also our house is on a horse farm. I am basically living the dream here in Elk Plain haha. We went out the other day and fed them apples! The Mountain View is stunning once again here in the south half of the mission. And since it is in our zone we are going to go there next week! So excited! Only down side of biking that I didn't account for was the sun. It has been the hottest week in Washington since I have been on my mission haha and of course we are on bikes. It is okay though because even more people are outside! I got a bad sunburn all the way up my arms and on my calves. Weird because I never even burn there, but 7 hours in the sun is bound to do it. Sorry mom I will be more careful;)

The first day on bikes was super fun, but tiring too. Right before we went inside for the night I decided to ride down a street. I caught a lady outside and at first she didn't want to talk to me, but for some reason baptism caught her attention. Turns out she had a son die young and she had religious leaders tell her that he would burn in hell because he wasn't baptized. We taught about baptisms for the dead on the spot (which never happens) She was so excited and wants to learn more and try out the church! Miracles when you follow the Spirit!

Next miracle, we are teaching a lady named Salina. Side note: she has the cutest little black son ever I am in love:) She is really awesome and struggles with prayer and knowing God loves her. We taught about divine identity and invited her to pray at the end to know what God would have her do. She did and the Spirit filled the room. She told us she knew was only doing this half heartedly and was going to put more effort into getting an answer! Spirit for the win again haha!

Tender Mercy this week! There was a baptism in EATONVILLE!! We took Salina and it was great. I got to see Lexie and all the ward members that still have my heart. Lexie has finished her papers and will turn them in a month! She is doing amazing:) I can only imagine how many generations of people her choice to be baptized and serve a mission will affect. It was great to go home and remember all the great times I had there. President and Sister Rasmussen came too. Can i just say I love them?! They are truly amazing. Sad news came though that Sister Whitney's grandma just passed away. Please please please keep her in your prayers.

Last but not least I had my first official door slammed in my face. And when I say slammed I mean slammed! This grandma was livid to see us when she opened the door. Haha "shame for His name." I love this gospel! It is true. I know it with all of my heart. I am extremly blessed to be here serving my God with all my heart, might, mind, and strength. I love you all! Have an amazing week!

Love, Sister Northrup
