My baby is growing up
Wow it was quite the week! It went by too fast, but so much happened! So first off Sister Bowman and I have waaaayyy too good of a time.. We were making videos after planning one night and checked the time and... yep it was 10:32 so we basically ran straight into bed haha. We made a music video of our favorite song and it was pretty amazing.
We had a couple huge miracles this week as well! Sister Bowman committed two people to be baptized this week! Those were her first two in fact! Donavan committed to be baptized! He is doing so great. He went to church this week, even though he was out of town. He is so prepared and I love seeing the Spirit testify to him that what we are teaching is true. He is a testimony that you should never judge someone on how they look. He is a rough looking guy, but has the best heart in the whole world! We are also teaching a super prepared lady named Laquinta! She is so sweet and just wants to find the truth so badly. That is one of the greatest blessings as a missionary. That we get to see people's lives me changed by the Gospel. It is incredible. Random story: We were driving and saw some girls trying to push there jeep that had broken down. I pulled over and turned to Sister Bowman and said "Lets go!" She was like "Really?" Hahaha we jumped out and helped them push their jeep up a hill.. I thought my arms were going to fall off haha. But it all worked out! Surprise service is always fun. However, the black from the tire got all over my white skirt. I am sure my mom is just shaking her head at this point, because she knows I can never keep my clothes clean. :) Funny story: We met a crazy man this week. We knocked on his door and he told us to wait for him to come around to talk. Well he had straggly white hair and a nice hairy belly and was only wearing little grey briefs... Haha it was a little frightening. He showed us his little kitten with fleas, it was really sad. Then he started showing us alllll his stretches. Oh man hahaha if only I could reenact the movements he was making... Then he started dancing around... Then yelled at me for disrespecting my elders (all I tried to do was teach the gospel) Told us that all churches are corrupt. At this point we were doing our best to leave haha, and the last thing he yelled to us... "All the seals are ruining people's docks and causing havoc! Feed them to the Polar Bears!!" I will never forget all the great times here. There are so many funny moments and better yet so many lifechanging moments. I never want to leave. I LOVE MY MISSION!!! Your Sister in Christ, Sister Northrup
I almost forgot! We went to Angth's 1st birthday party this week! They were playing african music and all dancing! They taught me how to do it and it was a blast! I haven't danced for a long time ;) I love being in Washington and experiencing so many different cultures!
