Ups and Downs
Hello Everyone! This week has went by way too fast. I just want everything to slow down! But it was another great week. It is super overcast and rainy this summer... which is a little bit of a bummer, but all is well in Zion haha. We are teaching a new lady named Sister Duphrense. She is just adorable and old and tiny. She had her records removed waaaaayy back when and hasn't been to church since 1977, but she came last Sunday! It is really cool to watch her testimony building again. She is an incredible artist and just has pictures all over her apartment. They all look like professional artwork no joke. We also met this awesome guy tracting! His name is James and we talked a lot about science and the gospel and how they connect, which is my FAVORITE thing to talk about ( I'm a science nerd) We answered a lot of his questions and he wants to learn more.
Also, we met President and Sister Rasmussen this week! They are so so nice. I know that the Lord has called them to our mission and I am so excited to serve under them. I love the opportunity we get in the church to sustain our leaders. I have seen how God works with so many different people to accomplish His purposes and it is amazing. One thing an Elder said struck me, "God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies who He calls." I know that this is so true. I know I am soooo unqualified to do this work, but He gives me the power and the Spirit so I can be effective in His work. It is a blessing that I am grateful for everyday. Sister Gregg is a less-active lady we have been trying to work with. Unfortunatly she dropped off the face of the earth for awhile, but recently we saw her! We had some men from the ward give her a blessing to help with some of her health struggles and she is doing great. She and her son came to church and loved it. I love love love watching people's testimonies grow! I love seeing people change to come closer to Heavenly Father! Fun part of the week: We helped build a park! The grande opening was this weekend and the governor recognized us for helping. It was great service! Sister Bowman and I would have competitions of who could work harder hahaha.. I hope you all have a wonderful week! Keep the faith! Your Sister in Christ, Sister Northrup
