No longer a teenager...

Well it is official... I am now 20 YEARS OLD!!! So extremely weird and crazy that I finished my 2nd decade of life. I can feel the old in my aching bones hahaha. This week was so good! We had many good lessons and are teaching a lady who's husband just got baptized and she is so open to learning. I give her a couple weeks to commit to get dunked herself haha:) Omar is doing amazing! He came to all of church yesterday and is working on living the Word of Wisdom! He is super awesome like always!

So the highlight of the week was that I got to experience MILKING A GOAT!!!! It was so weird! But so fun at the same time! We tracted into these people with a farm and we offered service. They told us they always need help milking the goat hahahaha. So we did it! I was pretty fast if I do say so myself. But one of the nipples was malformed so it was more difficult than normal;) Always good times on the farm! They asked us to come help them twice a week so milking is going to be a weekly thing from now on! We also had some crazy experiences with meeting people from different cultures. So first story.. We went to try an investigator but she wasn't home so on our walk back there were a bunch of African ladies carrying a bunch of stuff. We offered to help and followed them into a huge party! Come to find out they are Ethiopian! They wouldn't let us leave until we had a plate full of food! I tried some of the noodles and bread... but... they offered meat and I just couldn't bring myself to try any of the lamb or RAW beef they were serving! Yuck! Sister Orr tried some lamb and said it was good so that was good enough for me haha! So by this time we were completly stuffed because this was our second dinner of the night. We headed over to teach a muslim family we hadn't seen in awhile and they told us come in sit down and eat dinner!! Ahhhhh! I was so so so so so full already! But they convinced us to try some! The Afghan food was amazing! I loved it! We taught them about the plan of salvation and they listened and exchanged their views. I don't think they will change religions, but it was a good conversation. I just love being here in Washington! We have so many cool experiences everyday! I wouldn't trade these past 8 months for anything in the world. My Heavenly Father is changing me into someone I could never have become without this time of devoting all my time, attention, and heart to His work. Sister Orr decorated our whole living room this morning for my birthday! I honestly don't think I could have asked for a better companion! Thank you for all of your prayers and love! I love you all! Have an amazing week! Oh! One last thing! I decided this month to read the entire Book of Mormon! It is about 18 pages a day! I challenge all of you to do it too! It has been a beautiful testimony building experience for me! Your Sister in Christ, Sister Northrup
