Teach Repentance and Baptize Converts
It was a great and crazy week! We had an incredible last zone conference with President and Sister Eaton! They are the best! We talked a lot about repentance and how it is a process not an event. True repentance happens daily and as we do so brings us closer and closer to Christ. We have been emphasizing helping investigators truly repent so that they become converted to the Gospel. As I have deepened my own understanding of repentance, I have felt the Spirit so much stronger in my life. I feel that I am not only clean from my sins, but also enabled to become someone that I couldn't be without my Savior. I am so grateful that he sacrificed so much so that we could access our true potential to change from natural man to saint.
We have been teaching Omar and he is soaking up the gospel like a sponge! He has actually been anti-ed a lot this past week, but recognizes that Satan is trying to destroy what is good. He came to Stake Conference yesterday and told us that he feels something amazing here and knows it is where he needs to be. He is preparing to be baptized next month:) It continues to amaze me how if we trust in God he will always work things out. He continues to send prepared people for us to teach. My heart just grows and grows the more people I meet. I love so many people here and I can't fathom how it is possible! Charity is the best blessing ever! We are also teaching a less-active lady who,due to health, has struggled coming to church. However, over the past few months she has been listening to the Book of Mormon and striving to correct her behaviors. Her last vice is coffee and we talked about the Word of Wisdom and asked her to give us her coffee. She gave us most of it haha... but about 2 days later she called us up and said "Come get the rest of this! It is too much of a temptation!" We went over and cleared out the rest and she told us how good it felt to live ALL of God's commandments. Seriously! Repentance is the best! It is such a beautiful thing that no matter where we are at in life, we can change and align our will with our Father in Heaven's. He is always waiting for us to just reach out and stretch ourselves a little more, so that he can bless us more and more and more. I invite you all to pray this week and ask, "What can I change to come closer to God?" I promise as you sincerely ask this question with the intent to act on the answer, Heavenly Father will help you become someone so much greater. You will feel closer to Him and His Spirit will be more abundantly in your life! I love you all! Your Sister in Christ, Sister Northrup
