Families can be together forever
Wow! It has been such a miracle week! The biggest and best news is that NOLAN WAS BAPTIZED!!!!!! I got to go with Sister Bailey back to my home town of Eatonville this week! It was such a tender mercy. It really was like going home. I got to see so many of the ward members who I love so dearly. Nolan asked me to speak on baptism. It was such a beautiful service and I feel so blessed to have been apart of his journey to the truth. There was quite the group of sisters there that all sang families can be together forever. I am so excited that Bonnie and Nolan have started on their path to being sealed together for time and all eternity. Isn't it the greatest blessing to know that we can be with our families forever?!
Second miracle! While I was in Eatonville I asked for a priesthood blessing from the Bishop and Brother Burris, both of whom I am very close with. I have had a few health issues in the past few months, so they gave a blessing of healing. By the end of the blessing the Spirit was so thick and all of us were bawling. I have been healed. I testify that the power of the priesthood is real. A couple of my problems immediately started to improve and I am so grateful for blessings! I know that my Savior is so aware of my struggles and always wants to help me. We had quite a few finding miracles this week and a weird story haha.... So first we met a girl named Brittney. We talked a little bit and she is atheist but she said we could come back and teach the next day. We did and it was a powerful lesson! She listened and was very intrigued, but her curiosity soon turned to belief. We testified that the Savior loved her and could take away the burdens she had been carrying. At the end of the lesson, She prayed for the first time in her life. It was so incredible to see someone exercise so much faith and turn to God. The day before that we were tracting with little success. I turned to Sister Orr and said trying to be positive.. "It's okay! I have faith that we will find a family today!" We kept walking and a little girl rode up to us on her bike. We said hi and she asked who we were. We told her who we were and what we were doing. She then exclaimed.. "Well you should come to my house!!!!" We followed her and met her mom and her brothers. She was very interested in learning about the plan of salvation! I know that the Lord blesses us according to our faith and trust in Him. I am so grateful for the miracles I have been apart of this week! Everyday my faith is strengthened and my testimony grows in this beautiful gospel! I know it is the way to complete joy in this life and the life to come. Okay so sorry to take away from the spiritual note, but I have to tell the weird story;) So there is an apartment complex called Waterbury. In short, it is where we go when we want to have hilarious, weird, crazy experiences hahahaha. So we went to tract and saw a guy outside so we went to talk with him. He proceeded to tell us the story of Adam and Eve, but his version has an interesting twist. He claims and I quote, "The Tree of Knowledge is Marijuana. Eve smoked it and felt good and her mind was able to think more clearly. She told Adam to smoke and he gained more knowledge as well. That is why I smoke Marijuana everyday." We both stood there in shock not sure how to rebuttal his belief hahaha. After a moment of silence Sister Orr said, " That is an interesting twist on the story of Adam and Eve. I'm not sure how true it is, but you have a nice day!" Hahahahaha I was trying so hard not to bust up laughing! So there ya go another crazy story from the people in Waterbury!! I love you all! Have a fantastic week! I challenge you all to do something to stretch your faith this week. Pray and ask what you can do to build your trust in you Father in Heaven! Your Sister in Christ, Sister Northrup
