The Greatest Event in History

Happy Easter!!

This week has been amazing. I feel overwhelmed with emotion as I think back of the events of this week. The highlights were definitely Saturday and Sunday. President Eaton gave us special permission Saturday morning to drive to the coast and watch the Sunrise. It was so calming and beautiful. We had to do it Saturday, because due to Washington weather it was going to be cloudy on Easter. But it was still great! As we were looking out on the water, a baby seal swam up to us. It was adorable:) Saturday's events continued to go smoothly as we prepared for Kathy's and Christina's baptism! It was so wonderful. They both came out of the water beaming! The spirit literally radiated out of them. I walked into the dressing room to hand Christina a towel and she teased me with a comment that the water was like a hot tub! Haha only the hottest water for our most golden investigators was my reply;) The next day they sealed the deal and got the gift of the Holy Ghost. I cried. There could not have been a more special experience than witnessing two women I have come to love so much receive the most precious gift our Heavenly Father has given to us. But of course the companionship of the Holy Ghost wouldn't even be possible without the sacrifice of our Savior. My view of the atonement has changed dramatically on my mission. I understand more and more everyday the magnitude of what He went through for me. Every person that has, is , or will ever live is covered by His sacrifice. He is the only way. Serving Him with all of my being is the only way I feel that I can give any sort of small expression of gratitude that because of Him, I will live again, and even better I will live again with my family. My family is my everything. I would not be here if it wasn't for their sacrifices and support. My companion and I had the opportunity to teach Gospel Principles this week and we shared a story about a seminary class and doughnuts. If you have never read it, or even if you have, I encourage you to look it up. It makes me cry every time, because in a small scale it helps us see how much he really did for us. I can be completely clean through Him. I have so much to repent for everyday! It would be so depressing if those burdens couldn't be lifted. For any of you struggling with past transgressions and want to repent or feel like you can never be clean.... You can. The sacrifice has already been made! He already suffered. All we have to do is ask. Ask for help. Our Heavenly Father is so merciful, because of the demands of justice have been met. He is our advocate and is cheering you on. I know that this is His restored Church. I know He is my Savior. He is my bestfriend. I can't imagaine not being a member of my bestfriend's church:) It is the greatest blessing in my life! I love you all so much and so does Jesus Christ! Your Sister in Christ, Sister Northrup
