First Christmas for Christ

Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! My Christmas was pretty amazing! We got fed A TON of food and spent some good times with members. Talking to family was great too:) But more importantly this Christmas was dedicated completely to my Savior. I felt the love he has for all of us fill my being as I served and shared my testimony this holiday season. Of course with the holidays comes some home sickness, but despite all of that I recieved the greatest tender mercy. Before it was time to go in for the night, we stopped by an elderly lady's home that we knew would be alone for Christmas Eve. She was so excited to see us! We shared a message and sang Christmas carols with her. I don't know that I have ever felt that happy on a Christmas Eve before. I love serving here and more so I love the people I get to serve:)

We had a cool experience while tracting this week. We walked up to a door and I felt hesitant, which isn't like me. I usually don't get super nervous to knock on doors, but we knocked anyway. A lady opened the door and told us she was busy with something but asked if we could leave her with something to read. We gave her a pamphlet and she looked at us with tears in her eyes and said "You couldn't have come at a better time in my life." The spirit filled my heart as I felt how much the Savior loved this woman. She has had a hard life, but the gospel will help her so much! She has committed to be baptized and I am so excited to continue helping her use the atonement and let it light her path. The gospel is so amazing! It is the best thing in my life and I don't know what I would do without it. It just gives purpose and direction to everything I do as I look to the Savior's perfect example and do my best to follow in his footsteps. I love you all! I pray you all are doing well and never taking any second for granted. Find joy in the journey!!!!

Love, Sister Northrup
