How Great Shall Be Your Joy...

Jacob Odle was baptized on November 6th and confirmed November 8th. He is my first baptism!! The coolest part is that I got to teach him pretty much all the lessons. He is such a great kid and knows the gospel is true. So the day of the baptism was crazy but exciting. Unfortuantly we had to plan everything ourselves because we currently don't have a ward mission leader. One of the men in our ward told us to turn on the font early, because it takes like 3 hours to fill. So we ran over and turned it one and planned on returning to check on it in an hour because we had a dinner appointment to catch. So we left and after dinner we headed back towards the church. Well you all know me and the whole way back I was joking that we were going to get back and have flooded the church ( just joking of course though right?) On our drive back Sister Bailey asked if we should stop by and see someone real quick. I said I wasn't sure so we prayed. Immediately after the prayer I had a bad feeling and said we needed to get to the church. We got there and I quickly walked into the room with the font... I opened the door AND THE FONT WAS AN INCH FROM OVERFLOWING!!!!! We both screamed and sprinted to turn off the water... If we would have stopped to see that person or for anything else the water would have started to flood the room. It was a miracle for sure. That was pretty nerve racking, but the baptism was amazing. When Jacob came out of the water he made his goofy smile and said that the water was amazing. He said he felt so clean and wished he had done this sooner!! I bawled. For the first time on my mission, I actually felt like a missionary. I could almost hear my Father in Heaven say... "Well done thou good and faithful servant.." This work is his alone. And only He can accomplish what needs to be done. I am honored to serve and represent Him. I love the people here so much and it has only been 6 weeks. We have a goal as a mission for this month to reach 40 baptisms. I would ask that all of you pray for us to reach this goal. There are miracles everywhere I look!
Next story... We have been working a lot with the members trying to help them do missionary work. Well it paid off because the same day Jacob was baptized we got a text from a young man in our ward saying he invited his friend to meet with us and she said yes. Her name is Lexie and she is amazing! She has such a strong spirit and a strong desire to find truth. We taught her this past Saturday. I invited her to kneel and pray with us about Joseph Smith and if he was a prophet on the spot. She was nervous, but offered a beautiful prayer. I looked up and smiled at her and asked how she felt. She responded that she felt good and that our message made her feel fulfilled. I was so humbled as I got the opportunity to bear witness to her that the Holy Ghost was telling her this is the true church and that her Heavenly Father loves her. I invited her to be baptized and she said yes. She has committed to be baptized on November 27th! Heavenly Father hears our prayers and wants to bless us. He knows the desires of our hearts and as we sacrifice and live the commandments... Everything he has promised will be given to us. I testify that this church is true. I testify that our Savior knows and loves each of us more than we can comprehend. I testify that invitations open the windows of Heaven. Invite. Invite. Invite. There are people that need what we have as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love you all so much! Have a wonderful week!
Your Sister in Christ,
Sister Northrup <3
