Miracles!
Miracles.. On Miracles.. On Miracles...
This week has been so exciting!!! So highlight of the week was definatly the lesson we had with Sean on Friday. It was his first lesson and we wanted to teach him the Restoration and invite him to be baptized. The lesson went wonderful and the spirit was testifying so strongly. Sister Bailey and I both taught well and I invited Sean to be baptized. HE SAID YESSS!!!! He agreed to try to be baptized on November 14th and I cannot tell you how excited I am. It is such a blessing to be here and helping people come unto Christ. Heavenly Father has given us so many miracles this week it is crazy! We have been prompted to go certain places, talk to certain people, and say certain things. I feel the spirit guiding me more and more everyday. So I chose a scripture to ponderize for the next couple of weeks and wanted to share it.
Alma 31:34-35
34. "O Lord, wilt thou grant unto us that we may have success in bringing them again unto thee is Christ."
35. "Behold, O Lord, their souls are precious, and many of them are our brethren; therefore, give unto us, O Lord, power and wisdom that we may bring these, our brethren, again unto thee."
I love love love this scripture! It is the pray in my heart every second of every day here in the field. As I meet people and talk with them I can see how much the gospel could change their lives! I want everyone to have it. One thing I have learned is that the atonement applys to everyone. When I see someone walking down the street I remember that the Savior suffered for them too! That he wants so badly to have them back. He sacrificed everything, so that we would find joy. At zone meeting this past week someone said something that really stood out to me. "Faith does not increase by chance, but by choice." I testify that that is the truth. We must act on promptings for our faith to increase. We must add the do in our search for truth or their will be no results. As we strengthen our faith in Christ, he will change our hearts and align our will with his. It is an incredible thing. We taught an investigator this week that said he struggled with "blind faith" He said that he couldn't do that. He couldn't just accept something just because... And I got the beautiful opportunity to bear testimony that Heavenly Father doesn't expect us to have blind faith. He expects us to ask in faith, believing we will receive. He gives us all personal answers that we need. He accepts us to act in faith, but will always give us an answer if we are open and willing to recieve it! I testify that this church is true and as we have faith and do what he has asked of us, He will give us exactly what we need. He might push past our limits, or want us to do something we feel we cannot do, but with him all things are possible. Keep the faith brothers and sisters. Share the good news. Act on promptings and he will give you more! I love you all with all of my heart. You are all in my prayers.
Love,
Sister Northrup
