Greenie Cake
Eatonville, Washington has a new Sister!! It is a small little town, but we have a beautiful view! We live in town, but its almost like camping that is how remote it is hahaha. We have to drive a half an hour for any bigger stores or for district and zone meetings. Yes we have a car. But sometimes we walk too... but our area is very spread out because people live in the middle of nowhere haha. My trainer's name is Sister Bailey and she is a saint. She is so patient and understanding. She loves this gospel so much and is a good teacher. Standing next to her I feel like I am a less than adequate companion and missionary. But i try to remember that i have only been out a week and have a lot to learn. The members in Eatonville are pretty great! I have only met some, but so far they have been very willing to participate in the work. Hopefully I will get to meet more at church this sunday. We have some progressing investigators and I got to invite someone to be baptized this week! He said he needed more time, but I can tell he will someday. Maybe not while I am still here, but someday! I absolutly love teaching! It's great to see peoples eyes light up when they understand something or feel the spirit. Our goal this week is to get more people to church! This weekend we worked so hard to get people to watch conference and it paid off! We had an investigator at every session of conference and all of them loved it! Speaking of conference... WASN'T IT INCREDIBLE??!!! I loved it so if any of you didn't get to watch please watch it!!! It will change your life!! We have amazing general authorities with such love and devotion to the gospel. I want to place my testimony among theirs that this gospel is so true! Christ is our Savior and he would do anything to help us. Heavenly Father loves his children and wants them to return to live with him again. I have an invitation for you all this week. Watch your favorite conference talk and set a goal. Write it down and commit to changing your life a little more to follow the Savior. Faith is an action word. We must act in order to be worthy of the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost, and as we act in faith he will open the heavens unto us and we will be able to feel more fully the promptings and direction he has in store for each of us. A mission is the hardest thing I have done in my life... it is not the easy path at all. However, I know that this work is the most important thing I will ever do besides raise a family. We are all missionaries. We are all called to help and as we do we will be blessed so greatly for it. I love you all so much! I want to thank you for the influences you have all had in my life! I wouldn't be the kind of person I am without all of your support and help! My miracle of the week is Prayer! Oh my goodness how I love prayer! When I have been discouraged or rejected I just pray with all my heart and he never lets me down. We have met the people we need to and taught what He wants us to teach his children and it is so amazing! Jacob is a 15 year old boy we are teaching and he is so mature about the gospel! He is only 15 but comes to all the activities, attends seminary, asks us for lessons, I don't think I have ever seen someone so devoted to learning! I know he is ready to be baptized and I am so excited to be there when he does! He teaches me more about being committed to the gospel than I could ever teach him! Keep the faith brothers and sisters! Never give up. Never give in. Build the Kingdom of God.
Love,
Sister Northrup
